Introduction

We are pleased to announce a new year of the international piano program, designed for a limited number of high-level pianists who wish to perfect their art.

This is a unique program that offers the opportunity of working closely with some of the world’s top artist-teachers. The program is organized in collaboration with the École Normale de Musique “Alfred Cortot”, the Palm Beach Atlantic University, the Conservatory of Funchal, Madeira, and University of Ottawa, Canada .

Course of study will take place at two locations: the École Normale de Musique in Paris — the historical and legendary school which Alfred Cortot founded — and the Fondation Bell’Arte in Braine l’Alleud-Brussels, Belgium.

In addition, one session will be held at the Palm Beach Atlantic University, one at the Conservatory of Funchal and one in Torino. A facultative Summer Camp will be organized in Taiwan.
The purpose of this unique program is to provide participants with the benefits of artistic coaching and career guidance from prestigious artist-teachers who represent diverse piano traditions. Students awarded the International Artist Certificate will be presented in several concert organisations in France, Belgium, USA, Spain, and Italy. Following the final examinations, Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri and Philippe Entremont, will analyse the opportunity for select students to participate to the recording of a CD.

General Information

Participation in the International Certificate Sessions is highly competitive. A limited number of students from around the world are chosen for the program each year. These students are admitted to a special nine month course during which they are coached by a team of distinguished artists/teachers. In addition to the program’s artist faculty, select world-renowned artists will be invited as special guest professors.

Pianists eligible to apply include those who are working on or who have received an MM in Piano Performance; are currently studying or who have completed a DMA in Piano Performance; are working on or who have received a Diplôme d’Exécution; are working on or who have received a Diplôme Supérieur from a Belgian Conservatory; and graduates from Musik Hochschule, or students who have an equivalent diploma.

Consideration may also be given to the finalist of an international competition and any pianist of a high technical and artistic level interested in performing professionally or in a professional teaching career. In the latter case, a live audition will be requested.

There is no age limit for the International Certificate for Piano Artists.

Description of the course

The International Certificate for Piano Artists sessions starts at the end of September and finishes in May
During that period the participant will have various intensive sessions of instruction, which include a week-long session at the Palm Beach Atlantic University and a facultative Summer Camp in Taiwan. The program’s faculty consists of artist/teachers.

During the school year, the participant can consult, at any time, Professor Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri, the founder and general coordinator of the International Artist Certificate Program as well as a piano teacher at the École Normale de Musique de Paris “Alfred Cortot.”

At the end of the year, an evaluation jury will be organized to determine the progress of the student during the year of study. The participation to this final audition isn't automatic. The young pianist is expected to have reached a certain artistic level. He also must have attended a minimum of 80 % of the sessions during the academic year, in order to present his/her works at the evaluation jury.
During the jury, the student will present works he/she prepared during the sessions.

The final jury will be at the end of June or beginning of July.
The compulsory work will be known at least 5 weeks before the final jury.
